I arrived back at Dulles on schedule this afternoon, but it was not an easy trip home. The flight from Tehran was scheduled to leave at 2:15 a.m. but was delayed three hours, making for a very long night, and wishing I was with the group on Isfahan! Fortunately, the layover in Frankfort was originally scheduled for 6 hours and I made my connection easily.

Thanks for sharing these perspectives and especially the incisive quotes. We do indeed have much to explore with people of faith who can think with us about the things that make for peace. Travel well!

It sounds like you all are having a meaningful time in Iran. I read your blog with interest. Anita, your comment about how significant it is for you all to be in Iran as a vehicle for increased understanding seems key to me. The more I have found myself in the midst of Iran concerns, the more strongly I have sensed that increased understanding - on all sides - is key to our living as followers of Jesus along side our Muslim sisters and brothers. Power to you as you journey on. May you time in Iran be as fruitful as the fruit stands at the side of the road!
Peace,
Gwen G-Z

Hello there
Well I got to know the site with one of my dearest Mennonite friends. I really enjoyed reading about the first day of your trip. (the unfriendly behavior of the waiter was perhaps because of the hard day!). Wearing black clothes are not a force here in Iran; ladies could wear some light colored clothes, as you call it, from head to toe.
